Tasty cupcakes with the most unexpected ingredients.

The first few things we normally think of when we consider making desserts especially cupcakes and cakes are vanilla, chocolate, fruits, sugar and all other general baking ingredients. If you are a beginner, I bet never would you consider using meat or soda.

I came across this really awesome post on crazy cupcakes and it is definitely one worth sharing. I could personally recommend the cupcakes with bacon and the one with eggnog as there are really super tasty. This basically shows us that you can do anything and use any ingredient you can image for your cupcakes. All it takes is a little imagination.

Cherry Coke Cupcakes

Ingredients:

Cake

1 box Devils Food Cake Mix

3 eggs

⅓ cup vegetable oil

1 cup Coke

⅓ cup Maraschino Cherry liquid

24 Maraschino Cherries

Frosting

1¼ cup softened Butter

5 cup Powdered Sugar/Icing Sugar

2 tbsp Coke

1 tbsp Maraschino Cherry liquid

Red Food Colouring (optional)

24 Maraschino Cherries

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Line muffin pan with paper liners.

Make batter according to mix direction EXCEPT substitute 1 cup Coke and ⅓ cup cherry liquid for water.

Fill liners ⅔ full and add 1 cherry to the middle of each.

Bake according to box directions and allow to cool completely.

Frosting

Whip butter, coke and cherry liquid and gradually add icing sugar.

You can optionally add red food colouring to get desired colour.

Transfer frosting to piping bag and frost each cupcake. T

Top each with a maraschino cherry.
